In this paper, a low-profile HF (high-frequency) meandered dipole antenna with ferrite-loaded artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) is proposed. To operate in the band while retaining compact size, ferrite high permeability applied to unit cell of AMC. The operating frequency bandwidth designed AMC 1.89:1 (19–36 MHz). Thereafter, by implementing binary genetic algorithm and combined overall size 0.06×0.06×0.002 λ3 at lowest frequency. proposed fabricated measured. measured VSWR (<3) covers 20–30 MHz on band. confirm performance antenna, reference monopole which operates was selected, receiving power compared result
